Fresh from being on tour with Brazil's national team, Hernanes is keen to make sure he makes as big an impression on Serie A as he did do in the Brazilian league.
Now on his second season in Italian football, Hernanes reckons that Lazio have a chance to winning Lo Scudetto, and that the Bianocelesti are genuine title-challengers.
Last season Lazio struggled to match up to theri fan's expectations - crashing out of Europe early and then dropping out of the top 6 in the league for the first time in 5 years. Hernanes claims things have changed since then, and believes that his team can be a force to be reckoned with as the season progresses.
“Most of the squad remained from last season and we knew that we could improve dramatically with the arrival of players with quality such as Miroslav Klose, Djibril Cissè, Senad Lulic and Federico Marchetti. Now Lazio are in the Scudetto race too"
Whilst he plays as a trequartista for Lazio, Hernanes has just returned from international duty where he is used primarily as a winger. Hernanes doesn't mind where he plays, as long as he's on the pitch!
“In Brazil, this is my role, while for Lazio I play behind the two strikers. It’s all fine with me, as long as I get to play.”
