Wolves midfielder Leander Dendoncker is reportedly on the radar of Lazio ahead of the summer transfer window. Corriere dello Sport have claimed the Belgium international is a target for the Serie A club, who are also looking at Ruben Loftus-Cheek of Chelsea. Supposedly, Dendoncker is seen as a potential replacement for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. The Serbia international has two years left on his contract and has been valued at around £70 million (Calciomercato).
The report says Lazio have actually long admired the 27-year-old. So far this season, Dendoncker has made 29 appearances across all competitions. Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho tend to be the main men for Bruno Lage. But Dendoncker has proven to be a very important squad player this term.
He has seen much more game time in 2022. And of course, at the moment, Neves is injured meaning Dendoncker is vital right now for Lage. Wolves should keep Dendoncker unless big offer arrives, amid Lazio interest. Wolves ought to keep a hold of DENDONCKER. The star may not be top of the pecking order at Molineux. But the former Anderlecht star does have good physical abilities and is also very versatile.
This season, he’s had some really good performances. That all said, Dendoncker should not be deemed unsellable. If a big offer arrives then Wolves should think about offloading him. But given the lack of options at the moment, the thinking should be to keep him. Especially, with Moutinho and Neves both linked with summer exits from Molineux.
It's not yet clear if Wolves will be willing to part ways with the midfielder but Italian Serie A side Lazio will jump at the opportunity to sign the star if it ever arises. The summer is set to be an exciting one for many reasons.
