Lazio is going through a crisis which began back in November of 2015 when the Italian club failed to win a single league match during that month.

Time has passed by and now it’s February but things haven’t changed much with Lazio as they are still struggling trying to clinch consistent victories and rumors are going on claiming that the future of the head coach StefanoPioli is in danger of getting sacked.

Lazio ended a run of seven matches without a league win by claiming a narrow 2-1 win over table leaders Inter Milan.

Apart from upsetting the top of the table, they have also recovered in the winning mentality that seemed lost for quite a while. It had sparked rumours about manager Stefano Pioli losing his job. After the recent success against Inter, midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has come out in support of the manager by claiming that Pioli has instilled a winning mentality in the dressing room that will be difficult to take away from the players.

Lazio manager Stefano Pioli says that he is confident that his team will be much better than last season.

Lazio were one of the surprise successes of last season after they managed to sneak into the Champions League place at the last moment. Finishing five points ahead of Fiorentina meant that Lazio will be given the opportunity to have a go at the Champions League group stages by taking part in the qualification rounds. Much of this success has to be attributed to the turnaround in fortunes towards the end of last season.

Mario Balotelli continues to disappoint as his career in Anfield has been underwhelming ever since he joined the Premier League club back in August of 2014.

The Italian attacker is considered to be one of the most talented players in the world of football but the 24 year old player has not lived up to the expectations of his fans and the media.

In the first season of Mario Balotelli as a player of Liverpool, he managed to make 16 appearances and scored once and for a transfer fee of €16 million, Balotelli has turned into one of the worst signings in the history of Liverpool.

Lazio almost created history by finishing just one point away from archrivals Roma.

Even though the club managed only two wins from the last five matches, it was enough to see them narrowly finish ahead of Fiorentina in the fourth spot. Fiorentina looked like the team to beat in the latter stages of the season. They managed to beat Napoli 4-2 in the final game of the season to secure third spot ahead of Fiorentina. This is then get back into the Champions League – although not the highly lucrative group stages just yet – qualification phases for the next campaign.

Lazio’s stunning form in the last couple of months has seen them move into second place in the Italian Serie A after a 4-0 win over Empoli.

This was the fifth consecutive victory in the league for the club. This coupled with the fact that teams like Roma and Napoli have been struggling for form has ensured that Lazio are up into second spot ahead of their archrivals Roma. This was a great moment for manager Stefano Pioli, who had his doubters when he came to the club. After Juventus suffered a shock defeat against Parma, Lazio have closed the gap at the top to 12 points.

The President of Lazio, Claudio Lotito is now under fire after a few words that the Italian entrepreneur said concerning certain clubs in Serie A and Serie B in Italy. A few weeks ago a telephone recording was released by the Sporting Director of Ischia, which is a club that is competing in the third tier of Italian Football in Italy, in the Lega Pro.

Lazio midfielder Marco Parolo says that 2014 has been a great year for him and that he would like to continue scoring more goals for the Italian outfit.Parolo’s superior from in front of goal has been a major reason behind Lazio finishing third during the winter break.

The 29-year-old has not been a renowned goal scorer, but he managed to get eight goals and six assists for Parma last season. He is yet to reproduce this form for Lazio, butParolo is confident of doing so in the coming months.Parolo has scored two goals in 15 appearances for the Italian Serie A club.

Lazio’s Stefano Pioli is envisioning placing the Italian club into a European spot that will allow Lazio on competing either on the Champions League or the Europa League for the next season.

In order for Pioli to accomplish this mission, Lazio will need to secure a top 5 spot in Serie A and the possibility of Pioli’s squad achieving their objective is real with Lazio currently positioned in 5th place.

On November 3, Lazio claimed a convincing 4-2 triumph over Cagliari and Stefano Pioli was ecstatic with his clubs’ dominating victory.

Lazio managed to get a much-needed victory against Sassuolo in the Italian Serie A just before the international break. This second successive victory in the league was important for the club after having suffered back-to-back 1-0 defeats in the previous two matches. The club will come back into the league campaign after the international break with a lot of confidence according to manager Stefano Pioli. The former Fiorentina defender assumed the role as the head coach of Lazio in 2014. He replaced Vladimír Petkovic, who was sacked after a string of poor results.
