Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi says that he needs the help of more signings in order to take the club back into the Champions League or even Europa League on a regular basis.

The club managed to win the Super Cup by beating reigning Italian Serie A champions Juventus at the start of the season. Despite this hugely positive result, Simone Inzaghi says that Lazio may not be well prepared for the upcoming campaign, as the club will also have to deal with the exertions in the Europa league. Last season, the club managed a fifth place finish – seven points ahead of AC Milan and eight of Inter Milan. Yet, both clubs have significantly strengthened in the summer and will be aiming for the top three positions.

Simone Inzaghi made his debut season as the head coach of Lazio during their campaign of 2016-17.

The 41 year old tactician was able to guide the Italian club to the 5th spot of the Serie A which is fairly impressive, especially taking into consideration that the previous season of 2015-16 saw Lazio having to settle in the 8th position.

Lazio also managed to reach the finals of the 2016-17 edition of the Copa Italia where they had to face off with Juventus and eventually had to succumb to a 0-2 defeat but it still was a memorable campaign for Simone Inzaghi and his squad.

Serie A club Lazio are not in the hunt to sign Croatian midfielder Milan Baldelj this summer, agent Dejan Joksimovic has revealed.

The Capital outfit had yet another impressive season in the Italian Serie A as they finished in fifth place.

Baldelj, who has been a regular performer for Fiorentina, came close to linking up with AC Milan during the winter transfer window before the deal collapsed. He has since been linked with a whole host of clubs including Lazio in recent weeks, but his representative has denied any talks with the Rome-based club.

Napoli kept their Champions League hopes alive with a confident 3-0 defeat of Lazio over the weekend. Jose Callejon and Lorenzo Insigne combined to redeem the plunging confidence of the team following their Italian Cup exit to Juventus.

Had Napoli failed to get the desired result, it would have put their Champions League dream in doubts. Ahead of the trip to the StadioOlimpico, Napoli were yet to lose to Lazio since April 2012.

When it comes to being known or popular in the world of football or in any sport in general, the players that make the most noise are the ones that can break records or mark their name in the history-books of a competition and someone that has achieved this status is the former attacker Filippo Inzaghi.

Filippo Inzaghi is now the head coach of the youth division of Ac.Milan but during his playing career, it’s hard to argue that he was and still is one of the most well-known Italian strikers in the history of the sport.

Serie A giant Inter Milan embarrassed Cagliari when both sides met in the league. Inter put up a spirited second half display on Monday to end the game 5-1. Inter demolished the Sardinians at the Stadio Sant’Elia with Ever Banega, Ivan Perisic and Mauro Icardi contributing the goals.

Inter have been focused on changing their fortunes in the league after several mishaps on the way. They are now vying for the Europa League spot alongside Atalanta.

The first twenty minutes was quite competitive for both sides until the hosts chickened out of the clash. Inter took advantage, an impressive Banega connected with Perisic to get the opener. They did not rest on their oars as they found another within minutes as Banega curled his effort in.

Lazio returned to winning ways in the Italian Serie A after a brilliant 6-2 win over Pescara.

The victory is undoubtedly made possible as a result of managing a 1-2 win over Inter Milan a few days ago. Simone Inzaghi watched his team secure this crucial victory in the Coppa Italia to erase the memories of back-to-back losses in the league. Prior to this game, Lazio were defeated 2-0 by Juventus and 1-0 by Chievo. These were massive setbacks for the team in the hopes of finishing in the top three. Qualifying for the Champions League is now extremely important for the club, as they do not want to see the likes of Inter Milan and AC Milan recovering their former glory days.

Simone Inzaghi at the club’s Christmas dinner this week claimed Lazio was doing well though he admitted that there was difficulty en route. Inzaghi said he knows the challenges, having been around for 17 years considering his time as a player before he became the coach.

“We’re getting good results and I share that success with everyone from the club, doctors, kit saff and of course the players. This summer when I accepted the challenge, I knew it would be difficult.

“We’re happy right now because we’re doing well, but the difficult part is coming up. I have faith, because I can sense the confidence and enthusiasm from the first to the last. I have been here for 17 years, so I know the challenges.

Lazio managed to continue their stellar progress under Simeone Inzaghi after going eight matches without a defeat. Even then, manager Inzaghi claimed that there was room for improvement from the squad.

Since suffering the 2-0 loss against AC Milan in the middle of September, Lazio have been undefeated in all competitions. It has been an impressive turnaround of fortune since the appointment of Inzaghi. The run has helped Lazio stay in touch with the top three. The opportunity to finish in the Champions League spots will be very crucial for the club in order to make progress going forward.

In the Italian Serie A, Lazio held Torino to a 2-2 draw, with former Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart beaten twice.

The Three Lions player who is on a season-long loan deal could do nothig to stop the goals, but his teammates forced a late goal to share points with the visitors. This term, Hart has been able to keep a clean sheets in just two games out of seven matches.
