Changes coming to Lazio next season

Lazio is desperate to change their team in order to compete better in the Serie A next season. New players and possibly a new manager could be brought in to help the team compete again for the title.

Media has revealed that Lazio might be interested in signing the Spanish striker Fernando Torres from fellow Italian club AC Milan. Torres is currently on loan to his hometown club Athletico Madrid where he has managed five goals.

Lazio is keen to bolster their attacking options for next season so as to be able to compete with the top teams in Serie A and Fernando Torres seems to be one player that may help them achieve this. The only stumbling block is the wages. The striker is believed to earn €4m per season, an amount that might be beyond Lazio reach. The only way for the move to happen will be that Fernando Torres should accept a pay cut.

On the other hand, there is news that a new manager might be on its way to Lazio. Giampiero Ventura, currently manager at Torino, is being touted as a replacement for Stefano Pioli. The board has not been entirely satisfied this campaign with Pioli and feel that change will be needed if they want the club to go forward. Previously, it was SinisaMIhajlovic, the current Milan boss that has been rumored as being the future manager of Lazio. But since a few days, there is news that Ventura might also be in contention for the post of manager.

Lazio has not won any major trophy since the Supercoppa in 2009 and would be keen to make changes to their team so that they can become a force again in the Serie A. It will all depend on how much money Claudio Lotito the Lazio president will be interested in investing.
